Utility Surveyor

Location: Barnsley  |  Salary: £30,000 – £45,000 per annum  |  Sector: Utility Surveying

The Role

An exciting opportunity for an experienced Utility Surveyor to join a growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for locating buried services and leading a small survey team, with additional tasks including office-based processing of 3D GPR data and CAD drafting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct site surveys to identify and map underground utilities
  • Lead and manage a small team of surveyors
  • Process and analyse 3D GPR data
  • Draft plans using AutoCAD software
  • Utilise electromagnetic frequency locators for tracing services
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
  • Maintain accurate records of survey results
  • Communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders

Requirements

  • Relevant industry qualification in surveying or a related field
  • Proven experience in utility surveying
  • Proficiency in using GPR systems, specifically Leica DS200
  • Experience with Vivax VlocPro3 or similar EMFL equipment
  • Basic knowledge of AutoCAD
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
